ABOUT RACHEL
Rachel began studying harp in Rochester, NY when she was 8 years old. By the age of 13 she was performing as a soloist at weddings and community events and played with the Rochester, NY Area Harp Ensemble for 5 years. Classically trained through college and beyond, Rachel maintains an active gig schedule also incorporating Celtic music, contemporary/pop, wedding music and new age music. Rachel studied harp at the University of Buffalo and The University of Toronto, playing in both orchestras and ensembles. While in college and afterward, she has greatly enjoyed performing as a soloist at weddings, church services, Renaissance Faires, holiday events, restaurants and social events. Rachel currently resides in Georgetown Texas, and she continues to play as a soloist and orchestral harpist. Rachel is the Principal Harpist with the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra and is a Guest Harpist with the Austin Symphonic Band. She is an active member of the American Harp Society and the Austin Harp Society. Rachel is currently available for private events such as receptions, cocktail hours, church services and other social events in Georgetown, TX and surrounding cities. She is also passionate about the electroacoustic harp, and in 2022 she became a certified practitioner of Vibroacoustic Harp Therapy, a form of music therapy she offers with her electroacoustic harp as part of her counseling practice in Georgetown, TX. |
