In and around Houston he's known as the "Uptown Saxman". Edmond Baker Jr. started playing the saxophone in the 6th grade at age 11. He played in the Jr. High band, the only formal musical training he's ever received. He believes his ability to play is a gift from God because he plays by ear and from his soul.
In 2002, after playing for 20 years, Edmond took a leap of faith and pursued his passion as a full-time career. It has certainly paid off and the results speak for themselves as he's been rated as a 5-star player, as well as the top saxophonist on both Gigmasters.com and Gigsalad.com, two of the largest on-line entertainment agencies in the country.
